Amino Acids Supplements

Amino acids are the building blocks of protein, but their function in your body go beyond just being “building blocks”. They are part of nearly every system and function within your body from enzymes to hormones, from metabolism to the brain and mental processes and much more.

The nine essential amino acids are not able to be produced by the body and therefore need to be attained from the foods that you consume, such as meats, dairy products, eggs and careful combining of certain plant based protein sources. However when our daily protein intake is low, natural supplements that provide additional amino acids may be a great option to fill any nutritional needs.

Amino Acids Info

There are 21 different amino acids and they are the building blocks of life - the body uses them to synthesise protein.  Twenty percent of the human body is made up of protein, which plays a crucial role in almost all biological processes.

There are thousands of different proteins in the human body. They provide all sorts of functions essential to our survival. A large proportion of our cells, muscles and tissue is made up of amino acids.  They give cells their structure, they play a key role in the transport and the storage of nutrients, they also have an influence on the function and integrity of organs, glands, tendons and arteries. They are the backbone of the many thousands of enzymes and they are essential for healing wounds and repairing tissue, especially in the muscles, bones, skin and hair.

By maintaining an ideal daily intake of amino acids your body and brain are able to function at their best.

Some examples include L-Arginine to support healthy circulation; L-Theanine supports a calm state of being, soothes mental tension and although not a sedative, may assist in achieving a good night sleep.

  • Not for me

    star

Unfortunately for me these did not work at all. In fact I became worse, way worse. I stuck it out as I thought may have been an adjustment period but no. I am sure they work wonders for others but just not the right product for me.
