Green Lipped Mussel Info

Green lipped mussel is the native New Zealand shellfish Perna canaliculusm, a mollusc that freely inhabits our long coastline and is an important cultivated species in our government regulated aquaculture industry. Farmed in our southern seawaters under careful protocols to prevent contamination and ensure high potency, New Zealand green lipped mussels have a natural anti-inflammatory effect beneficial for joint disorders and many other inflammatory conditions.

As well as being naturally rich sources of the Omega 3 essential fatty acids, green lipped mussels are also high in proteins, minerals, enzymes and GAGs (glycosaminoglycans) the essential factors in joint cartilage formation and repair.

Green Lipped Mussel Benefits

Research shows green lipped mussel helps maintain flexibility, mobility and suppleness of joints. It is an effective treatment for symptoms of both rheumatoid and osteo arthritis, including stiffness, pain, inflammation and joint mobility problems. It helps the body repair joint and cartilage damage, supplying chondroitin, glucosamine and other important nutrients essential to the repair process.
