Back & Neck Pain Info

“God is a concept by which we measure our pain.”

John Lennon

As the term suggests, back pain is a pain that is felt in the back. It usually originates from nerves, muscles, joints, bones, or other tissues connected to the spine.

It may have a sudden onset or it can be a chronic pain; it can be intermittent or be , stay in one place or radiate to other areas. It may be a dull ache, or a sharp or piercing or burning sensation. The pain may radiate into the arms and hands as well as the legs or feet, and may include symptoms other than pain. These symptoms may include tingling, weakness or numbness.

Back pain is one of the most frequent health complaints, with about 90% of adults experiencing back pain at some point in their life, and 50% of working adults experience back pain at least once a year.

So it is a major problem.

The spine is a complex interconnecting network of nerves, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments, all of which are capable of producing pain. Large nerves that originate in the spine and go to the legs and arms can make pain radiate to the extremities

Neck pain is also common problem, with two-thirds of the population experiencing neck pain at some point in their lives.

Although it is typically experienced in the neck, the pain can be caused by numerous other spinal problems. Neck pain may arise due to muscular tightness in the neck and upper back, or pinching of the nerves coming from the cervical vertebrae.

Joint disruption in the neck creates pain, as does joint disruption in the upper back.

The head is supported by the lower neck and upper back, and it is these areas that commonly cause neck pain. The top three joints in the neck allow for most movement of the neck and head. The lower joints in the neck and those of the upper back create a supportive structure for the head to sit on.

If this support system is adversely affected, then the muscles in the area will tighten, leading to neck pain. As the pain is mechanical in nature, most people may benefit from visiting an osteopath or getting regular massages.

There certain natural health remedies which may benefit people experiencing pain in neck and back.

  • Great absorption

    star

I've been using this product on a daily basis for a couple years. I believe it's important to supplement vitamin C in an ongoing way for the numerous roles it plays in the body. I tried various types of vitamin C over the years, but I always ended up with diarrhoea. The BioBalance product however works well for me, my body absorbs it properly and I don't have issues. It allows me to have 1g daily very easily.

This is very gentle but effective. It also smells amazing!
Highly recommend for severe chronic tendonitis!
I used it 2 -3 times a day for the first couple of days as my pain was bad, then I have used every night for 2 weeks and it's great! I have also used it in conjunction with Rhus Tox homeopathy tablets. The two seem to work well together for me.
