Calcium Info
Calcium is an essential ‘macromineral’ – required by the body in large quantities – and a critical nutrient during preconception, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Our bodies require more calcium than any other mineral.
The balance of magnesium to calcium is vital for healthy function and particularly to prevent calcification and calcium deposits forming everywhere from the microcellular level through to tissues and organs. A ratio of no more than 2:1 calcium to magnesium is needed by the body for optimal functioning.
Also essential to correct calcium absorption are adequate levels of vitamin D, silica, boron, dietary fat intake and hydrochloric acid production in the stomach. Too much dietary fibre, sodium, and caffeine can reduce calcium absorption.
Calcium Benefits
Our bones contain 98% of our calcium stores, our teeth 1% and the remaining 1% is a vital element in blood clotting, neurotransmission, digestive enzyme activity, regulating heartbeat and muscle contraction.
Maintaining optimal calcium levels keeps bones strong and healthy, improves weight management, stabilises blood pressure and protects your heart, eases premenstrual tension and reduces the risk of colon cancer. The best form of supplementation provides a balanced, bioavailable mineral formula, and focuses on enhancing our body’s absorption rate of calcium from food sources.
Calcium Side Effects
There are health risks associated with elevated blood calcium levels, so it’s important not to over-supplement. It is not advisable to take a stand alone calcium supplement over the long term without professional guidance.

Could be on to something major!
It may be too soon to tell, but I think these are helping my menstrual migraines that I’ve had every 2 weeks for 30 years.
I’ve missed a fortnightly migraine and I have more energy in the mornings than usual. I generally feel more well than before starting this supplement.
Fingers crossed , but I’m glad I’ve started taking these tablets.Andrea

Tastes creamy and yummy to me
I got some of these the other day for my toddler. He has been eating them up happily (I snip the capsule with scissors and squeeze it on to a spoon, or he has it in his Weetbix (can't even taste it this way). I had one too and thought it was creamy and yummy. I would gladly keep feeding these to my family.
