Protein Powder

High protein foods may help you feel energised and satiated longer - saving you from the in-between meal snacking and 3pm energy blues. Protein is essential for growth and repair, and requirements can be higher for certain groups of people, including those doing intense sports and weight or cardio training, people recovering from illness, or those recovering from injuries.

When ingested, protein is broken down into its component amino acids, which are then rearranged by the body into other configurations to form the building blocks of our body. This makes protein critical for good health, and conversely implicates protein deficiencies in many health problems and makes recovery and healthy body function difficult if intake is inadequate.

Protein can be lacking in many people’s diets, particularly those leading busy lives who reach for quick and easy high-carb foods in a hurry, or those on vegetarian or vegan diets.

Protein Powder Benefits

Protein powders are an easy way to increase your protein intake, making a delicious snack on their own or the basis of a healthy breakfast or lunch smoothie.

Choosing the Best Protein Powder

Whether doing cardio training, building muscle, convalescing, trying to gain or maintain weight or supplementing a vegan diet, you can choose from our great variety of protein powders:

  • whey protein powder - a perfect source of high potency protein that is easily broken down and quickly absorbed
  • rice protein powder - healthy and affordable alternative with a neutral taste, ideal for those wanting to avoid whey or soy, suitable for vegans
  • pea protein powder - digests easily and contains all the essential amino acids for building a strong, healthy body, suitable for vegans
  • soy protein powder - great, cost-effective source of protein, suitable for vegans

Our protein powders come in tasty flavours such as creamy vanilla, coffee or cacao and coconut. Sprouted products increase bioavailability and ease of digestion, and some are blended with vitamins and superfoods for extra nutrition.

For dietary support for most people, a plain protein powder is usually adequate, but for those doing intense sports training, you may wish to also consider protein bars or balls, enhanced with other nutrients such as l-carnitine or green tea extracts. There is something for every taste and every dietary need.

This is a nice nutty tasting powder that does not have the nasty after taste of other powders.

  • Smooth & Pleasant Tasting

    star

First time trying a soy protein, and I'm really enjoying it! It blends up super-smooth, and I even managed to make a yoghurt-type consistency with it (when shaken up with just a little liquid). No 'powdery' texture. Pleasant flavour, not too sweet. Can easily add stevia or preferred sweetener if required.
