Description
Absolute Essential Bergamot (Organic) provides the uplifting citrus aroma of bergamot. Bergamot has cleansing and restorative properties that can be used to support balance and natural composure.

It has antiseptic properties that support its use for general healing. Bergamot can also be used for skin care and repair. Supporting a tonic effect on a range of body functions, it also supports emotional wellbeing and the digestive process. Bergamot can be used when cravings are strong to support willpower. 

Bergamot is a small and sensitive citrus tree with fragrant fruit that are green/yellow in colour. Linked in origin to Lombardy, Italy, production today is mostly limited to the Ionian Sea coastal areas of the Reggio di Calabria province. It is widely used as a general skin tonic by the cosmetic industry. This Italian oil is cold-pressed from the rind.  

Fragrance notes:
All the zesty brightness you would expect from a citrus but with a unique floral presence and a tart, spicy edge.

Blends well with:
Sandalwood, Petitgrain, and Lemon.
Ingredients

Citrus aurantium var. bergamia (cold pressed rind, certified organic, Italy)

Naturally occurring constituents: Limonene, Linalyl acetate, Linalool, y-terpenene, Neryl acetate.
Directions

For topical use: Blend with a carrier oil before applying to the skin, 5 drops per 10ml of carrier oil (i.e. almond, apricot, jojoba.)

For diffuser or vaporiser: Add 4-8 drops of essential oil as per instructions of device.

Composure & Calm: Add 3-5 drops of Bergamot to your diffuser to infuse your surroundings with a relaxing, restorative scent.

Cravings: If you are trying to give up smoking, surround yourself with the fragrance of Bergamot. Add 3-5 drops to your diffuser, bath, or body lotion.

Deodorant: Add 15 drops of Bergamot and 10 drops of Lemon to 25mls of Jojoba oil or 50gm of Aloe Vera gel. Apply under the arms after a shower. Repeat as required.

Weight management: Bergamot has traditionally been used to support healthy digestion and to help counter cravings. Add 3-5 drops to your diffuser, or a few drops to your bath and body lotion.
Precautions
  • Never ingest essential oils.
  • Never use them undiluted on your skin.
  • If accidentally ingested do not induce vomiting, follow with olive oil or milk and seek advice from a health professional.
  • Never use essential oils topically on babies under 3 months old (except under the guidance of a qualified therapist). If using topically with children, halve the amount of essential oils used (e.g. 2 drops per 10 ml).
  • Citrus oils are slightly photo-sensitising so avoid sunlight after application to the skin.
  • Can irritate the skin. Dilute well if used in the bath or in combination with hot water.
  • Avoid contact with eyes - flush with water.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Avoid continual repetitive use - not more than 4-5 days in any week, unless in severe circumstances or under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
  • Avoid during pregnancy.
