Description

Absolute Essential Patchouli (Organic) has an earthy, strong scent. It creates a soothing atmosphere and is grounding.

It supports toned, supple skin. Its deeply hydrating effect makes it suitable for cracked, dry skin. 

A bushy perennial herb from the mint family with small, pale pink-white flowers. Native to Southeast Asia it can grow up to 75cm in height. The word comes from Tamil and translates as green leaf. Although widely known as a perfume and incense, Patchouli leaves have also been used in food and herbal tea.

Fragrance notes:

A strong fragrance that's sweet and earthy. It's a spicy musk with a mild hint of mint - reminiscent of a damp forest floor.

Blends well with:

Lime, Geranium, Pine Scotch, Orange Sweet and Tea Tree.
Ingredients

Pogostemon patchouli (Leaf, distilled, certified organic, India/Indonesia)

Naturally occurring constituents: Patchoulol, delta-Guaiene, alpha-Guaiene, alpha-Patchoulen.
Directions

For topical use:Blend with a carrier oil before applying to the skin, 5 drops per 10ml of carrier oil (i.e. almond, apricot, jojoba.)

For diffuser or vaporiser:Add 4-8 drops of essential oil as per instructions of device.

Skin tone:To support healthy skin tone, add 3 drops to 5ml Grapeseed oil. Apply daily. The scent may be enhanced by blending with Cypress, Geranium,  Orange Sweet or Cedarwood Atlas.

Healthy fragrant feet:Add 3 drops to a teaspoon of talcum powder, mix, and place in your socks. This will  perfume the feet. Add 3 drops of Peppermint to further enhance the scent.

Gardeners' hands & cracked heels: This is a wonderful oil for softening gardeners’ hands and soothing bare feet in dry summer conditions. Add 5 drops to 10 ml of moisturising cream and massage i(more...)
Precautions
  • Never ingest essential oils.
  • Never use them undiluted on your skin.
  • If accidentally ingested do not induce vomiting, follow with olive oil or milk and seek advice from a health professional.
  • Avoid contact with eyes - flush with water.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Never use essential oils topically on babies under 3 months old (except under the guidance of a qualified therapist). Not recommended for children under 6 years.
  • If using topically with children older than 6, halve the amount of essential oils used (e.g. 2 drops per 10 ml).
  • Avoid continual repetitive use - not more than 4-5 days in any week, unless in severe circumstances or under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
  • Avoid during pregnancy.
