Description
Enzymedica Berberine Phytosome: Berberine has a rich history of use in traditional herbalism. It is an alkaloid found in many plants from the berberis genus, most notably hydrastis canadensis (goldenseal), coptis chinensis (coptis), berberis vulgaris (barberry), berberis aristata (Indian barberry), and berberis aquifolium (oregon grape).
Berberine has a plethora of activities in the body. It supports normal insulin, and blood sugar balance, supports healthy lipid levels, hormone balance, weight management and creates an environment to support a healthy microbiome.
Enzymedica uses Berbevis® berberine phytosome, sustainably sourced from the roots of berberis aristate. The innovative phytosome delivery system is comprised of raw barberry extract standardised to contain 28-34% berberine.
The formulation includes pea protein which functions as a carrier to support absorption, plus grape seed extract to protect the intestinal lining for greater tolerability. Berbevis® phytosome has been shown to deliver 9.6x better absorption over standard berberine extracts, unlocking greater potency at a lower dose, allowing for a small, easy-to-swallow capsule.
